Does an existing Ghost II need replacing?

Not automatically. Ghost 3 extends support to newer vehicle networks; that does not by itself make a correctly fitted Ghost II unsuitable for the vehicle it protects. Contact us if changing vehicles or considering an upgrade. Ghost II is being phased out for new installations as Ghost 3 supersedes it, with remaining units subject to availability and stock levels. This does not change existing owners' warranty cover or mean you must upgrade; no final withdrawal date is specified.

Will the Ghost immobiliser void my car's warranty?

Ghost II carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty. For Ghost 3, we confirm the applicable product warranty and vehicle-specific installation method before fitting. This is the approval insurers actually reference.

The Ghost connects directly to your vehicle's CAN data network. To start the engine, you must first enter a personal disarm sequence — using the existing buttons on your dashboard, centre console or steering wheel — just like a PIN code, but up to 20 presses long.

Because Ghost II uses no additional fobs, transmitters or LEDs, there is nothing for a thief to detect, clone or jam. A companion smartphone app is also available for effortless everyday disarming.

Autowatch Ghost 3 (Ghost III) brings a dual-CAN platform with high-speed CAN-FD support, extending hidden immobiliser protection to compatible newer vehicles as well as supported legacy CAN platforms.

CAN-FD ready

CAN-FD means Controller Area Network Flexible Data-rate. It carries more data at higher speeds than traditional CAN. Ghost III supports this newer protocol; Ghost II does not support CAN-FD.

Authorise before driving

Use a personal PIN sequence through supported factory buttons. Depending on the installation, compatible key-tag or smartphone authorisation may also be available. CAN, LIN and analogue immobilisation options are matched to the vehicle.
